REPLACING AUGER BELT
• Disengagethetractor'sattachmentclutch.
• Lowerthesnowthrowertotheground.
• Releasethespringtensionfromtheaugerbeltidler
armonthebottomoftheclutch/idlerassembly.
• Removetheaugerdrivebeltfromtheclutch/idler
assemblyandfromthespiralaugerhousing.
• Installnewbeltovertopoflargeaugerdrivepulley
andunderthetwosideidlerpulleys.Twistthebelt1/4
turntoseatthe"V"ofthebeltinthegrooveofeach
idlerpulley.Refertogure29onpage16.
• Assemblethebeltontotheclutch/idlerassembly.
ADJUSTING SKID SHOES
• Theskidshoesregulatethedistancebetweenthe
scraperplateandtheplowingsurface.Whenremoving
snowfromagraveldrivewayorandunevensurface,
keepthescraperplateashighabovethesurfaceas
possibletopreventpossibledamagetothespiral
auger.Onablacktoporconcretesurface,keepthe
scraperplateasclosetothesurfaceaspossible.
• Toadjusttheskidshoes,raisethesnowthroweroff
thegroundandplaceablockundereachendofthe
scraper plate. Loosen the six hex nuts securing the
skidshoestothehousing.Adjusttheskidshoesupor
downandretightenthenutssecurely.Adjustbothskid
shoestothesameheighttokeepthehousingandthe
scraperplatelevel.Seegure33.
SPIRAL AUGERS
• Thespiralaugersaresecuredtotheaugershaft
withtwoshearboltsandnylocknuts.Theboltsare
designedtoshearifanobjectoricejamstheaugers.

ADJUSTING LIFT HEIGHT, LEVELING
The snow thrower is equipped with two threaded lift
linksforadjustingtheliftheightandlevelingofthesnow
thrower in the raised position.
Themaximumliftheightisapproximately4inchesground
clearance for GT tractors and 3 inches for YT tractors.
TO ADJUST THE LIFT HEIGHT:
• Raisethesnowthrowertothehighestposition.
• Checktheclearancebetweentherearoftheidler
bracketandtheliftshaft.Aminimum1/16"clearance
intheraisedpositionisnecessarytoavoidpossible
damagetotheliftsystem.
• Toincreasetheliftheight,tightenthenutsonthe
bottomofbothliftlinksequallyuntilthemaximumlift
heightisobtained.
TO LEVEL WHEN RAISED:
• Ifthesnowthrowerisnotlevelintheraisedposition,
loosenthenutatthebottomoftheliftlinkonthehigh
side of the snow thrower until it the snow thrower
isapproximatelylevel.Itisnotcriticalthatthesnow
throwerbeexactlylevelintheraisedposition,itwill
level out when it is lowered to the ground.
• Iftheaugerswillnotturn,checktoseeiftheshear
boltshavesheared.Seegure34.Tworeplacement
shearboltsandnylocknutshavebeenprovidedwith
thesnowthrower.Forfutureuseorderpartnumber
710-0890Ashearboltandnumber47810nylocknut.
